![]() However, I realize that some people like that experience more power to them. I do not think the whole let’s ship a few hundred models to each retail store and let people stand in line for hours thing is a good idea. I *love* the fact that they offered pre-orders online though. I feel the same way even though I got mine “early” compared to others, and I waited longer to order it (ordered 4/21, received yesterday). I’ve accidentally hit the watch on a desk and twice in a doorway. The band is extremely comfortable and I haven’t yet seen any wearing/discoloration on it. Plus, I have ‘dressy’ watches in stainless steel and gold already- I wanted a watch I could wear while exercising and not worry about it getting dinged. I’m glad I decided on the sport aluminum because the stainless steel models apparently scratch like the back of an original iPod. I’m not concerned with the charger being different than the other watch models because it sits in my bedroom around a few other chargers. The battery life is better than I expected. I’m tired of the ten watch faces and the faces I’ve created are just variations of the preloaded ten faces. I know all of this will be resolved in the near future. My only problem with the watch is the lack of apps I’d use, the lag, and no additional watch faces. I mostly agree with them in terms of their opinion on the size and durability. I saw that you asked someone else how they liked theirs and they answered. I got my space gray sport 42mm with black band on 04.24.15. The main thing it needs though is custom watch faces that any developer can create but that is obviously a no brainer and I have to assume that it’s coming :) I have a passcode set on mine, it’s a little annoying to type in four numbers on that tiny little screen every time it needs to unlock. Hoping for those features in v2.0 along with a fingerprint sensor (TouchID) built into the display. I have diesel and d&g fashion watches that have cost less than that and came with beautiful cases. IMHO any watch over $500 should come with a case / pillow. A tad bit disappointed that the edition models get the case / charger but no other models do. I have other watches that are actually heavier / thicker (an igucci, a bvlgari diagono, Chanel h12 ceramic all come to mind).Īlmost all of the gripes I have with it are software related and can / probably will be addressed somewhere down the line.Īs for the hardware, it’s near perfect - would have liked a GPS and for it to be waterproof and have something to track swimming distance / strokes, but that’s about it. The ion-x glass is also extremely scratch resistant. The screen is great, but as with almost all AMOLEDs, the color scheme is predominantly black as to save power, and pixels. Srgmac - 8 years - It’s great, it’s not as thick or heavy as I thought it would be, the aluminum case is amazingly scratch / ding resistant and the sport band is surprisingly durable and comfortable. Update: Orders begin shipping with deliveries tomorrow: Image via these models being charged for and preparing to ship this morning, it appears likely that they will actually ship later today and begin arriving at the homes of customers tomorrow. During the April pre-order process, Apple indicated that many of these Watches would arrive between May 13 and May 27th, so it appears that Apple will be hitting the earlier side of that timeframe. Apple began shipping standalone Link Bracelets and Leather Loops last week, while the standalone Modern Buckle still reads as “currently unavailable.” We noted this was likely due to the more complex design and manufacturing of these particular band combinations. ![]() Image via the Apple Watch Edition, these models were the last variants of the Apple Watch to not yet ship. Standard Apple Watch with Link Bracelet orders started arriving in the United States yesterday… Apple has begun charging for and preparing to ship the first orders of the 42MM Space Black stainless steel, Modern Buckle, Leather Loop, and international stainless steel Link Bracelet orders, according to reports from several readers.
